Ackermans

Ackermans stores have been around for more than 100 years and today, there are almost 800 stores across Southern Africa. In South Africa, you will find a Ackermans store in every province, with the biggest stores in cities such as Pretoria, Berea, Polokwane, Mthatha, Cape Town and Johannesburg. The first Ackermans store was opened in 1916, in Cape Town, by owner Gus Ackerman. He wanted to provide customers with quality clothing, but also make it affordable.

Ackermans believes that happy employees bring in happier customers. In an effort to ensure they own employees are well looked after, they provide a variety of benefits. This includes tertiary bursaries for employees and their children, contributions to schooling, and employee discounts. Ackermans also wants the communities in which they are in, to thrive. Ackermans stores fall under the Clothing, Footwear, Sport category along with other stores such as Mr Price, Truworths, Sportsmans Warehouse, Cape Union Mart, Sportscene, Totalsports, MRP Sport, Jet, Spitz and Superbalist. Their trading hours usually depend on the mall in which they are located, but most often they are open from 9h00 to 19h00 from Monday to Saturday and 9h00 to 17h00 on Sunday.
