Clicks originally started in August 1968, in the city of Cape Town. The owner, Jack Goldin, had the idea that it would become a pharmacy. However, due to strict regulation in South Africa, selling medicine in their stores was just not possible at the time. In 1971, they expanded to another province, and opened a store in Durban. In 2004, Goldin’s dream of a pharmacy became a reality. Clicks opened their first pharmacy store, and today they have more than 500 instore pharmacies in outlets across South Africa. Their familiar slogan “You Pay Less at Clicks”, together with their competitive pricing, has been a part of the Clicks brand since the very beginning. They have grown into a successful brand with more than 700 stores across South Africa, in cities such as Berea, Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg, Polokwane, Benoni and Mbombela and employ more than 15 000 people.

Clicks falls under the Health & Beauty category, along with other stores such as Dis-Chem, Avon and Justine. Their trading hours depend on the shopping centre in which they are based, but most often they are open from 9h00 to 18h00 from Monday to Saturday and 9h00 to 17h00 on Sundays.
